Core Areas and Discovery Classes

Core Areas

Campers choose a specialized Core Area each week and will have two and a half hours each day devoted to that topic. Our diverse Core Areas are designed to appeal to the interests of all of our campers. Below is a brief description of each Core; options may vary weekly, please check the Core Schedule for availability.

Natural Science

Campers have the opportunity to explore our 600 acre property and learn about local plants and animals while honing their outdoor skills. The Natural Science Core is perfect for individuals who love being outside and learning about the environment.

Physical Science

Delve deeper into chemistry, physics, and Earth sciences with the Physical Science Core. Campers conduct a series of projects and experiments to learn more about the inanimate world around them.

Fine Arts

Explore your artistic potential with individualized instruction in a variety of mediums. Campers learn new techniques and practice existing skills by completing several take-home projects.

Performing Arts

Learn more about the world of live performances by working together to execute all aspects of a play or musical. Campers work all week to act, design sets, create costumes, and control lighting for the Friday evening production of their show.

Adventure Challenge

Find your extreme side by challenging yourself with ropes course initiatives, hikes, and wilderness activities. Participants must be 12 years or older. Each week includes an off-site day trip ($50 additional fee).

Discovery Classes

Each day campers choose two Discovery Classes from a variety of options. These are 60 or 75 minute activities that can cover almost any topic. Class options change every day and can include activities such as: tie-dying, rocket building, ice cream making, journaling, meditating, learning new sports and games, etc.
